Thank you for stopping by to read about the exciting and life-changing journey I will be taking with my team!
I plan to post thoughts, experiences, and photos as the trip progresses. This of course will require internet connection, which may be spotty, but I shall do what I can!
In about two weeks myself, five other wonderful nursing students, and two of our professors will be flying halfway across the world to serve and learn in a new culture! WE ARE SO EXCITED!
Our destination is Nairobi, Kenya. We will be spending a month there serving in hospitals, villages, and wherever else we can be of help.
Interestingly enough, I am the only member of the team who has never been overseas! I am looking forward to such an exciting and new experience.
On another note,
We have learned that there are specific medical items that will be very helpful for us to bring to meet needs in Kenya. As a result, each of us will be bringing a suitcase full of medical supplies with us.
The list of important items is:
Stethoscopes (adult and child) -
Thermometers
-Blood Pressure Cuffs (adult and child) -
Scrubs (all sizes) -
Band-Aids -
sterile Gauze -
Antibiotic Ointments -
Glucose Meters -
Gloves -
Hand sanitizer -
Scales for weighing babies and kids -
Tongue depressors -
Headlamps (with batteries) -
Penlights
If you would like to, you have the opportunity to donate any of these supplies or an amount of money for us to use to buy the supplies!

Finally, I would like to end my first post with a request for prayers as my team and I prepare for our trip. Prayers for opportunities to minister and serve, and for safety, teamwork, and guidance are essential to the success of our trip.
